Founder Story
Developed by a CEO with 20 years in construction for his own foreign workers
I have run a construction company with foreign workers for 20 years. They are diligent and skilled, but by law, they had to return home after 5 years. That always frustrated me.
Obtaining Type 2 status opens doors. But the exam is too hard. Materials are mostly in Japanese. Sites have no time to teach. I knew it was important, but there was no system to actually make it work.
I built UKARU for my own company first. Learning progresses just by handing it over, without increasing the site burden. Now, I am delivering it to other companies facing the same challenges.

Your site is too busy — no time to teach workers how to study for the exam
Your crew works full days on site. There's no one to teach exam prep, so training keeps getting pushed back.
Thick Japanese textbooks are too hard — workers give up before they start
Dense Japanese textbooks full of jargon. Workers can't read them, don't understand them, and can't keep going. Books pile up on desks.
A worker fails the Type 2 exam, loses their visa, and you lose the talent you spent years training
Years of training gone. A failed exam means lost visa status and departure. All your recruiting and training costs — wasted.
UKARU solves all of these — completely.
Solution
Why can your workers pass with zero effort from you?
Native language first → solve in Japanese. That's why it's fast.
Supports 10 languages. Workers learn technical terms in their native language first, then tackle Japanese questions with much less friction.
No training staff needed. Track progress from your dashboard.
See at a glance who's stuck and where. Spot check-ins like "Haven't logged in recently" become easy. Monitor everything from the admin panel — zero training burden on site.
Gamified learning keeps them going — and your retention rate up
Badges, streaks, and rewards make even tired workers think "just one more question." No need to push them — the system makes self-directed learning happen.
From "forced training" to "self-driven learning"

Actually used in the developer company
Developed by Takayoshi Oyama, CEO of Fast one (construction company based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture), for 4 of his own foreign technicians. Providing to external companies starts now.
“The biggest thing was the drastic reduction in manual teaching time. Now I just monitor progress from the dashboard, and they move forward on their own.”
Takayoshi Oyama
CEO, Fast one / 20 years in construction
“It suits me to understand the meaning in Vietnamese first and then solve it in Japanese. I like that I can continue even just for 30 minutes during my commute.”

“I do it bit by bit during lunch breaks. It is fun when the combos continue, and I naturally find myself doing one more question.”

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Contact us with any questions.
Can I pass?+
Results vary. We do not guarantee pass/fail. We focus on "score-oriented learning" with past questions and weakness analysis.
What does the name UKARU mean?+
UKARU comes from the Japanese word "ukaru" (受かる), meaning "to pass an exam." We chose this name because we want every foreign worker in Japan to pass their exam and build a secure future with their family.
How long to prepare?+
It depends on study time and current level. The app is designed for short, regular sessions.
Is it OK if my Japanese is weak?+
Yes. We use simple language and add term notes where needed.
Can companies adopt in bulk?+
Yes. We offer a team plan. We'll tailor it to your headcount and usage—just ask.
Is my data safe?+
We handle only what's needed for learning and manage it properly. See our privacy policy for details.
